In today’s cycling vlog, I rode my bike to Joukouji Temple 定光寺 to check out the autumn leaves. I heard from a friend that now was the perfect time to go, and there were a bunch of red leaves and beautiful sights, so I hopped on my bike and was off for today’s ride!
Joukouji 定光寺 is in Seto, Japan 瀬戸, which is just north of where I live. Even so, it still took me almost a good hour to get to this area.
I first arrived at Joukouji Park 定光寺公園, and took in the sights there.
Seriously, these fall leaves are beautiful. Cycling around Japan this time of year is by far the best in my opinion.
The temple is at the top of a mountain near this park, so there was one last little climb to get there before I could relax. I rewarded myself with one of my favorite Japanese snacks, gohei mochi 五平餅, which is a miso covered grilled rice stick (if that makes sense at all).
I then made my way to the temple, where I was photobombed by a monk while talking to the camera haha.
