Road bike review and first look of the Kaze Race Kansai 2 disc road bike. Today we are introducing our new road bikes and taking them for our first road bike ride in Thailand.

KAZE BICYCLES is a Japanese inspired bicycle brand based in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Kaze (風) means wind, so the brand name literally means “ride like the wind”

This is Thuong’s first time on a fully carbon road bike with carbon wheels. Fully aero, stiff, and a beautiful color to top things off. So needless to say, we’re both pretty stoked right now and will be putting a LOT of miles on these bikes 🙂

Thuong is riding the matte white frame. Cruise is riding the glossy red/black frame. Which one do you like better?

Chiang Mai is one of the most famous cities for cycling in the world. Many cyclists come from around the world to come here and train, especially in the winter. Many of those cyclists stay here at Vanilla Residence Chiang Mai, which is known as the “cyclist’s hotel” or “cycling apartment”.

They have many facilities that cater to cyclists, including

rental road bikes

Not to mention, there is a huge community of cyclists staying here, so there are often many group rides.

Bonus points (tons of amazing food options, a giant shopping mall, and a huge 1 hour hill climb within 5 minutes)

Check the Thai website for local rates in Thailand. The English website includes international prices, which is much higher due to export duties.

At $900, I think it’s hard to find a better aluminum mountain bike with Shimano SLX components.

We heard about Kaze bikes from our host and we happened to be cycling in Chiang Mai in the area and decided to stop by and look around since we are looking for a new road bike or mountain bike to use for cycling here. They have some really affordable bikes, and have become a top contender for our new bikes here in Thailand.

Also known as the Happy & Healthy Bike Lane (HHBL)

This is a 25km+ dedicated cycling path and one of the best cycling routes in Thailand. No cars, only bikes allowed!

During the middle of the day there aren’t many cyclists on the track, but after it begins to get dark, they turn the lights on and thousands of cyclists ride the track every night.

This is one of the best places I’ve ever ridden a bike, especially the safe bike path for training, the huge cycling community, and plenty of healthy food options at the facility.

Lumpini Park is one of the biggest parks in Bangkok Thailand and a popular place for cyclists since they have a dedicated bike lane and cyclists can escape the very dangerous roads of Bangkok.

Lumpini Park cycling course open hours: between 10am and 3pm.

Outside of this time, they do not allow bicycles on the course since the park quickly gets very busy with other people and runners.
